Yay or nay, and why? Last edited by Rocket88 on Wed Dec 23, pm, edited 1 time in total. Re: Tinting a Convertible? Post by roshambo » Wed Dec 23, pm Why didn't you get sun protection? Then again, having a soft top kind of defeats the point of sun protection when the tops down lol Matt. Post by Rocket88 » Wed Dec 23, pm I tan well my friend. Post by Rocket88 » Wed Dec 23, pm Isn't that just the same for all cars though?

Post by Rocket88 » Fri Dec 25, pm I do have some concerns haha! Car will be in Mineral Grey, black roof, Orbit Grey wheels and most likely body colour mirror caps if that would help you visualise it.

Post by ajayp » Sun Dec 27, am When you getting it? Might be an idea to ask someone with good photoshop skills to knock one up! Post by Rocket88 » Sun Dec 27, pm Best I can find of something tinted with roof down and glass up is this: And with roof up something more similar to MG Not much luck Googling images so far. Post by brookie » Mon Dec 28, am to but fair any tints on the front window are illegal as a lot off them come from dealers already to the max. They look pretty clear when I took the F23 for a test drive? Board index All times are UTC. I'm confused. Another vette dude I am on the vette forum C3 under "carpedm". Vintage AC system complete retro-fit to all look stock but preform just like todays system using Ra, etc. The only real big ticket item left in the resto-mod process is the engine which I am leaving to last doing it July since this will cost serious bucks and I wanted to get everything else in good order before I drop in a LSx series engine going all newer hi-tech stuff vs.

Current engine is good and strong, but original and I don't want to risk blowing it up and besides Back in 69 the HP ratings were gross and my engine was rebuilt a little while ago with lesser compression ratio to run on pump gas easily. I am having Al Knoch corvette interior specialist put a "clothe" top vs. I asked them about putting in tinted rear window and they said the stuff that is dyed-tinted already just does not hold up as well as the clear stuff.

I don't know exactly what the reason is behind that, but he said he is going to ask around to see if there was any better stuff out there as he Dale said something about the pre-tinted stuff being very thin. See ya guys around and thanks for the tips on the window tint. Now it looks like I am either SOL or risk using some other pre-tinted stuff that does not hold up well.

Pre-cutting BG pattern before shrinking Hey all, I'm trying to improve my speed on back glasses.

One thing I've heard people doing is pre-cutting their tint to be ready to throw on, before shrinking. That way there is no need to custom fit the shrunk tint to the window. I typically cut the tint to the rough shape of the window which allows for some wiggle room when shrinking, but I then need to custom fit the tint on the glass afterward which can be a little time consuming.

Has anyone tried this? If so, is it worthwhile, or, are there any pitfalls to look out for?
